The panel will be held on 26 January 2022, noon to 1:30 p.m. (Japan Standard Time), and is free and open to the public (registration required).

16 December 2021, Geneva, Switzerland - On 17 March 2022, UNITAR, the University of Geneva, and the University Global Coalition, host the fourth Geneva Trialogue edition, under the theme of ”Open Innovation for Education“. The Geneva Trialogue fosters communication and collaboration between academia, international organizations and the private sector, to tackle the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

? The new round for the Empowering the Sahel Region through Digital Reskilling and Upskilling to Enhance Productive Sources of Livelihood and Employment is open for applications.
? The programme will help participants turn their entrepreneurial ideas into digital products that empower others and address critical local issues arising from the COVID-19 crisis.
? The six-week programme will be held in French. It will start on 3 January 2022.
? Topics will include programming, coding, application development, digital literacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and gender leadership.
? To apply, you must be a woman or youth in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Senegal, with a deep interest in digital technologies, good oral and written French skills, and the passion to make a positive impact on society.
? Deadline to apply: 29 December 2021.

14 December 2021, New York, USA - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), together with the Global Foundation for the Performing Arts (GFPA), successfully hosted Building Resilience Through Hope, a piano recital in Carnegie Hall on the night of December 9th, 2021. Costa Rica, the Republic of Maldives, the Principality of Monaco, the Sultanate of Oman, the Republic of Rwanda and the Republic of Singapore have jointly sponsored the event. More than one thousand people with valid vaccination proof have attended the piano recital.

6 December 2021, Geneva, Switzerland?- UNITAR signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the European Academy of Diplomacy (EAD) at the UNITAR Headquarters in Geneva, to inaugurate the start of a new collaboration in the field of Multilateral Diplomacy. The MoU signing ceremony marks the beginning of a promising collaboration between the two institutes, which share a common mission of overcoming global challenges through the development and delivery of high-quality learning solutions.

UNITAR Division for Prosperity hopes to do just that with its Youth Ambassador programmes, one in Hiroshima and another in Asia and the Pacific, where high school students develop projects to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
